Inet broadband speed

I just bumped up my DSL service. The provider says I can get up to 15MB/s download speeds. I have yet to hit this, but it ranges from 10 -13MB/s (using speedtest.net).

Curious to know what other DSL subscribers are getting and if it's close to what the provider's say.

My max is supposed to be 6Mb. I get close, probably around 5-5.5 in the tests. Different tests will sometimes give wildly different results too.

Dear lord, how much porn can one man watch?

Having been involved with networking for a long time, I find all these numbers simply crazy talk. I remember setting up 'multi-link' connections with 4 28k DSL modems working in tandem to give our client a blistering 212k connection.

We had an ISDN line into our home so my wife could have a PBX phone and data service. Simply amazing at the time.

100Mbit/sec here. Provider has Ethernet straight into the house. It's quite cheap as well...30$ a month. I max out at ~92Mbit/sec downstream, 27Mbit upstream. I assume that your DSL provider means 15Mbit, not 15MB (with capital B). "b" = bit. "B" = byte. 10Mbit is quite OK for DSL.
