Want to do lunch in the San Fernando Valley this month?
FXEditor (Michael) and I were thinking of getting together in the Burbank, North Hollywood area for lunch one work day this month. Anyone want to join us? Open to dates and location.

I do, but I'd still go up there for lunch.
"Despise" is maybe too strong - it's hotter than hades and largely a dump (some nice areas, like in Glendale where I used to work, parts of Burbank, etc.) but I generally don't find much reason to have to go there. This is opposed to the City of Los Angeles itself, which I make a deliberate and conscious effort to avoid at all costs.

Simi Valley is the dust bowl of Southern Cali.
Weather is hot, but it's nice living next to the Santa Monica Mtns. Center of the Valley sucks. You ever make it to the West end? Woodland Hills, Tarzana, Encino are not so bad.

I agree, I don't live in El Aye, and I don't work there. When I buy stuff, I buy in Burbank, where I work or in Santa Clarita where I live, that way, sales tax $ go where I work and live. I just moved my daughter into her first condo in Long Beach. I swear it was a difference of 30 degrees between my house and her place. I can call in passes for the Disney lot if you want to go to the commissary, otherwise some other place is fine with me. I'll PM DD74, FXeditor, Kevinp73, techweenie, and TRE Cup. If you know someone else that might be interested, send them a PM.

I know some of you are going to Monterey, so how about Friday, August 21 or 28th? Bob's on Riverside is fine with me, or Jerry's Deli on the curve on Ventura Blvd.

Thanks for reviving the thread. No, you didn't miss it.Last Friday I think a lot of folks went to Laguna Seca. How about this coming Friday? I just PM'd the usual suspects. Bob's in Burbank, or Jerry's on the curve in Studio City? I'm open to other places as well.
