ferrari to run 3 cars, with schumi in one
EDIT: oops, meant to have the title say 3 cars, not 2. Moderators? little help?
Cool is all I can say, and that I bet baddriver (badour) isn't in one of them. How bad can a test driver be? That guy is slower than an immigrant in a crosswalk. Quote:

I don't see why there is a limit. If Ferrari wants to run 3 let em.

As long as they are restricted to a single pit spot during the race let them run 4
![]() I say yea.....more cars and talent on the track will certainly make it more entertaining and unpredictable......like todays qualifying at spa ![]()

I know Ferrari announced they stopped development on the F60 and are already working on the 2010 car so hopefully they come out swinging next year with 6 cars and drivers. ![]()

They have asked if they can run 3. FOTA has to agree in an upcoming meeting @ Monza.

it's one way to overcome the "no testing during the season" rule.
2 Cars for the competition 1 car to try out things (and potentially even more team strategy tricks)

I guess it could affect the constructor's championship, having three cars would give them an advantage over other constructors.
Probably won't fly. |

Montreal is on the prelim calender as of the other day, cant wait for it!
Canada registers on 2010 provisional calendar Saturday 29th August 2009 The Canadian Grand Prix is provisionally scheduled to return to the Formula One calendar next season. The 2010 dates have been circulated to the teams, with the Montreal event currently set for June 6, although the calendar is not due to be confirmed until October. The Canadian race, along with the British Grand Prix at Donington Park, are still only speculative at present given the doubts that surround them. Canada missed out this year for financial reasons, and while talks are ongoing with F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, there are no guarantees. The British round currently has a July 11 slot, the same day as football's World Cup final. However, it remains unclear whether the track will be ready in time due to ongoing construction. Silverstone, who seemingly staged their last British race in July, have announced they are ready to step in should Donington Park fail to meet their obligations. On the 18-race schedule, Bahrain will now host the season opener on March 14, with Australia second on the list for time-zone reasons. The Melbourne race became a twilight event this year, starting at 5pm local time and 7am in the UK. With the clocks Down Under and at home changing in late March, the 28th of that month is ideal for broadcasting purposes across Europe. Other changes see Turkey moved from June to late April; Valencia switched from the searing heat of August to late June, with China now mid-September after being run in April this year. Provisional calendar: Mar 14 - Bahrain (Sakhir) Mar 28 - Australia (Melbourne) Apr 4 - Malaysia (Sepang) Apr 25 - Turkey (Istanbul) May 9 - Spain (Barcelona) May 23 - Monaco (Monte Carlo) Jun 6 - Canada (Montreal) Jun 27 - Europe (Valencia) Jul 11 - Great Britain (Donington Park) Jul 25 - Germany (Hockenheim) Aug 1 - Hungary (Budapest) Aug 22 - Belgium (Spa-Francorchamps) Sep 5 - Italy (Monza) Sep 19 - China (Shanghai) Sep 26 - Singapore (Singapore) Oct 10 - Japan (Suzuka) Oct 24 - Brazil (Interlagos) Nov 7 - Abu Dhabi (Yas Marina)

Running a third car is too much of an advantage, not only because of having three cars with the possibility of scoring points, but with the test ban (which is stoopid, btw) it gives them an extra car to try stuff out on without penalty. |

I watched the entire race today and no one said anything about 3 F-cars next week.

OK, I see that now but it will never be allowed. They are trying to keep the cost of F1 down not up.

In defense of Badoer, he's not bad, just slower than the rest of the field. It's all relative. Many of us would be envious of his racing record.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luca_Badoer His last competitive race was 11 years ago, and since then has tested the cars and car bits used by the likes of Schumacher, Raikonen, Irving, Barrachello, Massa, etc., and as many of us recall, Ferrari wasn't too shabby during that time period (6 F1 drivier' championships, 8 constructors' championships). This season, no team was allowed to test between races, so Badour had even less opportunity to get up to speed with the current machine. Thrusting an obviously out of tune test driver into the highest ranks of motor racing had to be payback for years of "toil" testing F1 cars ( as if testing F1 cars can be considered brutal employment. I can think of many worst jobs to do). And the last two F1 circuits weren't really the ones to ease into the groove - Valencia and Spa-Francorchamps, the former very technical and the latter very high speed requiring, as SpeedTV announcer David Hobbs quipped, "Very large attachments." I think payback is complete and Ferrari will now have their pick of drivers to fill in for Massa the rest of the season. Not sure there's a healthy supply of qualified drivers. Schumacher may not be fully mended from his accident - he was option A over Badoer initially. Fischisella is a likely call, but Force India might play hardball with either Fisi or Ferrrari, and with Fisi's nice 2nd today in a much improved car, he might decide to stay and play the role of spoiler and team points gatherer until season's end where Raikonen is rumored to be leaving (or not). This in turn could provide the ride Fisi so covets (or not). But who knows? The funny season would seem to begin much earlier this year because of the circumstances with the Scuderia. Sherwood |

I said it before in the other threads, and I'll say it again.
Schumacher will never race in F1 again. Ever. All of this is being done for publicity only. Even if he is somehow "scheduled" to race, something will ALWAYS magically "come up" at the last minute, and it won't happen. |

Granted he's a much better race car driver than I ever was or ever will be, but as an F1 driver he sucks big time. |

Put yourself in his place; You are driving THE most famous F1 car on the planet at two of the hardest tracks the circus goes to, and you know you no longer have the skills to drive at 10/10ths. You are going to be last and you know it. I don't think I would put myself in that position, but he did. For someone who is apparently pretty shy and reserved, not to mention somewhat emotional, I think what he did takes a lot of nerve, and I thought he did fine. Yeah, he cost Ferrari some points, but did you ever think that maybe he was testing parts for next year? I never heard that idea broached during any of the telecasts, so if he was, and he flew under the radar, then good for him and good for Ferrari. (and, no, I'm not a Ferrari fanboy)
