Poll: You Witness Another Total Reckless Driver
Poll for the masses on what to do:
10:30 pm at night, a BMW 335i passes you ON THE SHOULDER to your right at a rapid rate of speed, on a 2 land hwy, you doing 60-65 in a 60 mph zone. He's booking at an easy 85-90. Traffic up ahead, he tailgates 3' behind the next guys bumper. You write down his plate number and note that it's a DEALER plate BOLTED on. He proceeds to tailgate so close the the guy in front of him rapidly pulls over to the shoulder to let him by. The guy in the BMW blasts by at warp speed. You stay on his tail hanging a ways back. Tempted to call in 911 as this guy is either going to kill someone or himself. Wayyyyyyy out of line, this guy has watched too many "fast and the furious movies. 7-8 miles later you pull up to a stop light and see that he even has a kid in a car seat in the back. 2-3 year old kid waving a happy meal box around. Kid or no kid, this guy is a danger and menace on the road. What if he kills someone, even one of YOUR family members? So what to do? poll to the masses

911. Done it before and will do it again.
The only time where there was a cop when I needed one. Similar situation. The cops waited at a construction zone (2x the fine) to grab the jerk. I drove by and pulled over to write a complaint. The guy behind me (who turned out to be a former prosecuting attorney) did as well. We were slapping high-fives and making smark azz comments to the speeder as he was cuffed. Turns out he had a gun in the car as well. Justice served. Felt good. Larry |

I would shoot him in the head if I had a clean shot. However, this is a daily & routine occurrence here. I'd run out of bullets over the course of a 30 min. drive.

Dealer tag, call the cops AND the dealer. If a legit dealer, he would certainly want to know (assuming it wasn't him).

Hmmm.
I called the Highway Patrol after an INSANE commercial truck driver followed me literally inches from my bumper. I first spotted him recklessly swerving in and out of traffic while speeding as he approached from pretty far behind. I was travelling in the #2 lane (the second to the fast lane). He came up behind me fast and nearly rear ended me. All I can think is he was having some kind of psychotic episode. The California Highway Patrol would not even take his license number or make a report. The officer on the telephone stated that they would be taking complaints round the clock based on heresay. So, no love from the Ca CHP. I guess the correct answer for me would have been to shoot the guy? Mike |
