Nothing wrong with the 928 except Porsche pretty much stopped development too soon.
Bearing in mind the local MB dealer has new SL models in stock (always a 928 rival), it shows that it could have been developed and sold into, at least, the mid 2000s.
There were too many dated issues: door window, door stops, heating/ac, stupid design for removal of rear speakers, electrics, leather shrinkage (did several dashes under warranty for that) and the feeling that although Porsche made the car, they weren't too interested in it.
During the last year of production, which I believe was off production line, the dealers were encouraged (had) to take one with their 993 orders.
In the end, a car that was too expensive for what is was, but not too expensive for what it COULD have been.
Personally, I always wondered why Porsche just didn't use the MB V8 motor.......to go with the MB auto trans.
I would have a 928GT anytime....
