Drink some water if you are going to drink pickle brine
It is all the salt in it that helps with the cramps |
it's also good for acid reflux.

This brings back memories of my grandfather....
He would get up in the middle of the night and ease into the kitchen for a late night sip of pickle "juice" as he called it. I can still see him now, illuminated by only the light of the refridgerator, standing in his underwear, spindly bird-like legs holding him up. Taking the pickle jar and turning it up! My grandmother wanted to kill him on many a morning when she'd go to the 'fridge and see that he'd all but emptied the juice form the dills. Thanks for bringing back a memory. I miss him badly. |
It sounds nasty, but vodka, soda/cola and pickle brine is pretty damn good. Took my first sip of that creation last night. The folks living in the sticks know what's good.

Take 1 of each: Green/red/yellow Bell pepper, about half a dozen Jalapenos, a habanero, a carrot. Chop into tiny pieces or go in the food processor. Mix with your pickle brine , keep it pretty dense.
In a week or so, spread that stuff on an Italian sausage sandwich or a hamburger. YUM. |

That sound fantastic! I'll give it a try for sure. |
It's also supposed to cure hangovers. I think its a Polish thing.

2nd the suggestion of a slash of pickle brine to a Bloody Mary.
Or when all the pickles are gone and all the brine is there, just refill the jar with the pre-peeled baby carrots. Pickled baby carrots are awesome after 2-3 weeks soaking. |
Wife drinks it with butter milk.
