can i recommend a FANTASTIC book? cars, dogs, life....
"THE ART OF RACING IN THE RAIN"
i am halfway through the book. i was absolutely hooked in the first chapter. HOOKED! i cant say much about it, but it is the best "man and his dog" book i have ever read. sprinkle in some porsche content...and VIOLA!. a good friend and pelican recommended the read...quiet time during my nightshift in the tunnel..headlamp is my friend.

My wife is reading this for her book club. She starts to read me a paragraph from it and I lean over for a look. The word Porsche immediately jumps out at me on the opposite page. I was shocked that she was, like you, 1/2 way through the book, and never thought to mention to me it was about car racing (I thought it was about running) and included Porsche content. Is that grounds for divorce?

Great book and the author is local to the Seattle area and a former race driver with conference (ICSCC). Many of the characters like Don Kitch are real people. Don runs the local race school where I was licensed and raced at Lemans this year with Patrick Dempsey. I met the author last year, very cool guy. Sounds like a movie will be next.

It's on my bedside table. One more chapter in my current book before I start.

I think this is the third thread that has discussed this book in the last 6 months. Course it is a fun read!

My favorite part? When Enzo gets to go with Denny in the BMW at the track - it felt like I was right there in the car with them! And the last few pages of course, read through the tears of the pages before. I think I'll go buy another one, maybe one to keep. Oh what am I saying? It won't last a week at my house... I'll read it and give it away just for the pleasure of knowing that the person I give it to will be able to enjoy this amazing story. Go Enzo!!! angela

I was given this book last year ..
a friend who knew about my older dogs... it's hokey and all that.. but if you have a 4 footed best friend young or old.. spent the $.. if you or a friend who's about to take his bud to the rainbow bridge.. spend the $.. there are many things you can choose to believe... this is something good... have bought 4 copies.. none came back.. always...gave it to a friend who could use a smile.. no problem.. Go Enzo...run Rika |

A great book.
I can also recommend The Dog that Wouldn't Be, by Farley Mowat. The best true story dog book ever written, and you will love it more than your children. |

Recently read "A walk across America", 'bout a traveller and his Malamute buddy. Good book but no car content.
