Dan,

Very hard to find but still available in some places in the US. Kinda like a pretzel but made out of marmite and some other stuff. Very addictive if you like the stuff.

didnt know Brits liked it too, i thought it was a Kiwi/Aussie thing. I have marmite on toast most mornings.

It's a yeast spread. its like having guinness on toast. its very healthy and natural and you do acquire a taste/craving for it. high in vitamin B.

i prefer marmite to vegemite.

Well, if it's "like" having Guiness on toast maybe I'll just have a couple of Guiness poured over some toast! Eliminate the need to look for marmite, etc. :D

I'd have to go back to the home country if I couldn't get Marmite here. Thank God Raleys sells it.

Now if I could find a local source for Tiwglets it would be fantastic

My wife is British, loves it. I can't even stand the smell let alone eat it. Our kids eat it though, must be in the British genes.

I believe it is one of the, if not the, richest source(s) of Vit B.

I wish I could like it but I think it tastes like feet.

Love Marmite, eat it on toast and wheat bagels, hate Vegimite. Also love twiglets.
Tastes of the old country.

VINMAN 09-08-2009 07:22 AM

Guiness Marmite is available too. No, I have no idea what it tastes like.....

Need to buy:
Marmite tee-shirt.
Paddington Bear Marmite gift pack.
Marmite Zippo lighter.
Twiglets.

Christmas is coming.......

If I put some marmite in my gas tank, will it clean my injectors and remove the carbon from my valves?

austin552 09-08-2009 05:32 PM

Garlic hummus here.

I like the HP brown sauce, marmalade, Worcester Sauce, bangers and mash, etc, but I loathe Marmite. Rest assured not all British love it.

For me, I'd sooner chew on a Fisherman's Friend than toast with marmite.

Paddington Bear always kept Marmalade sandwiches under his hat, not Marmite. What's going here? A marmalade hijacking?

My 'Gourmet' beans on toast recipe calls for toast an Marmite on the bottom, covered in Heinz baked beans, with lots of nice mature cheddar melted on top. Makes my mouth water just writting about it...
