I've been into old gas stations for a long time, and have restored many old gas pumps. That was a time I love, as it brings back my youth and cars. There was a old station in a town nearby like a Phillp's 66 and stood for years. The last time I drove by it was gone, demolished. I would have loved to have moved that to my spread and restored it, but now a part of history is gone.

I worked in a Richfield station as a middle teanager in the later '50's. I loved it then. Of course we pumped the gas, checked the oil, air in the tires, and washed the windshields. I especially liked washing windshields of nice looking ladies with dresses on. The last time I saw it in the '80's sometime, it was closed, fenced off, & had an environmental hazard sigh in front of it.

OK, it's not the one I'm thinking of, which is actually on RT-9. If that is Route 20, I've been past it. I used to live in West Stockbridge and occasionally we'd drive RT 20 instead of the Mass Pike.

The first one of these is only about 3 miles due south of here (in the yuppy district), the second is about 5 miles away. I didn't know it used to be a gas station, I just thought it was some silly old shop building.
