Florida Police Confirm Body in Landfill
This happened a few miles from my house and pretty close to Byron as well. This really hit home with my family because my daughter is the same age it happened in my backyard. This sickens me!

Sheriff Rick Beseler said Thursday that Somer Thompson was identified based on clothing and a birthmark that matched an "odd-shaped" mark on her left shin. The little girl was found partially covered in a Georgia landfill near the Florida state line, after investigators followed garbage trucks leaving the neighborhood where Somer disappeared.

The monster that did this, just like the monster that killed Jessica Lundy shouldn't be given jail time, or anything humane.
They need to be used as guinea pigs for medical trials, or on suicide missions in a war zone. If they chose not to be useful for once, then they get ripped apart slowly. They have proven they are not human, but monsters, and should be treated accordingly.

Hearing the cop describe breaking the news to the mother was something else. I have a little daughter and I don't know how anyone could go on after something like this.

Guarantee the perp has a long rap sheet and is probably out on parole. People who commit sex crimes against kids cannot be rehab'ed. They need to be locked away forever or fed to wild pigs. When will we learn that these people are incurable recidivists?

.22 bullets are cheap. Kneecap him then gut shoot him a couple of times. Done for less than .10c and over with. No hassles for the next parent.

There is a local story going on here with one of these guys that was active back in the 80's. They're trying to decide wheather he gets life or death. Now he claims John Gacy made him suck his weiner. Poor bastard, just put him out of his misery allready.

I heard this on the way into work this morning and I thought of my little girl.
These stories just make me angry anymore. I hope that the cops have an idea on a perp and catch them. If this were to happen to one of my kids, you can be guaranteed that the person responsible would pay dearly and very painfully. What jury would convict a broken-hearted parent?

Any criminologists here? To hear the press reports, one would assume these crimes against chilren happen more frequently than 40-50 years ago.
Or..are they just publicized more today?

We talked about this during a different abduction.
I think we all agreed that the crimes haven't increased but the quickness of the reporting and our"instant news' world makes it seem so. Just 20 -30 years ago we really only had the 3 major networks and if the case was not a national story we didn't hear about it. I don't know about major newspapers but I would assume that wouldn't cover a story that didn't occur close to home.
