In home chin-up/pull-up bar

Do any of youse Pelicans have experience with some of the portable in home chin-up bars? We're in an apartment with no yard or garage, so we need to keep it basic.

I've seen three types (not advocating these specific pieces, but the general style instead):

http://www.amazon.com/Amber-VKR-Tower-Space-Saver/dp/B000KU7WZ6/ref=pd_sbs_sg_4 Stand alone tower, might be the best option, but it'll take up lots of room.

http://www.amazon.com/Mountless-Pull-Up-Push-Bar/dp/B002LBZZYM/ref=sr_1_79?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1253112983&sr=1-79 Any of the 43,000 door mount one,s most of which have very bad reviews

http://www.amazon.com/All-one-Stand-Alone-Pull/dp/B001KUURTS/ref=sr_1_23?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1253113108&sr=1-23 big stand alone type, which can be taken apart. Some have room for 2 people at once.

Do the over-the-door style really mar up finishes that much? It's not going to be used for 2 hours a day every day, it's going to be used when I get off my lazy butt and use it. Obviously I'd rather spend $50 than $250 right now on this, but if the door ones are just crappy gimmicks, tell me.

I have an over-the-door one. It doesn't mess the finish up at all, but it's never been used once in my house. We don't have a single doorway it works in - they're all too wide, too low ceiling, too narrow, whatever. And our house isn't some weird strange contraption, it's a fairly standard 25 year old two story detached home. Make sure you get measurements before you buy one.

"perfect pullup" works great. Inexpensive as well.

Why not? Wood filler and touchup paint is cheap.

Then you fix my holes!

I don't want to deal with fixing holes, I don't want to lock myself into a single doorway to work in (invariably, it'll turn out to be one that's uncomfortable). I don't want to have any hassles with making a door semi-unclosable without some effort, and I don't want some bar making me have to duck when walking through the door. If I go the door route, it must be temporary.

Edit: I'm reading several reviews about that Iron Gym Extreme that gives it high marks...everyone is surprised at how well it works and how stable it is. So, anyone with specific knowledge of that one, please shout out.

Wood filler??? Just drill the threads out of the hole and glue in a same-sized wooden dowel. Cut it flush. Sand it. Paint it. You're done. (And ready to be screwed into again! )

We don't have the room for something like that, but for $160 you got a screaming deal, that looks to be a nice piece!
