Virtual Machines

VirtualBox from Sun Micro.

Open Source = FREE!

Not quite as many bells and whistles as VM Ware or Parallels but for the price who cares.

http://dlc.sun.com/virtualbox/vboxdownload.html

Good solution for you guys who have always wanted to fart around with the various Linux distros out there but don't have or don't wan't to dedicate a box to it.

Never used ESXi, I do use VM Wares Fusion.

I believe ESXi is based around the concept of a virtualization server that clients can attach to vs single machine host and usage, non network dependent environment. But don't quote me on that.
