cleaning car windows with vinegar.....

i had some hard water stains on my car. papertowel with distilled vinegar wiped it away with zero effort. left the glass, absolutely smudge free. i hesitate to attempt it on the inside. i dont want any car to smell like a salad. anyone do this? will it smell like bad foot odor?

I use it inside and out on the car and around the house. It only smells for a few minutes after using it.

0000 steel wool works great on the windshield, inside and out.

For the outside, I clean it with steel wool using back and forth motion like when waxing and then follow it up with a heavy dose of RainX. I do this on all of our cars. Bugs wash right off and I rarely need to use my wipers.

The windshield was really grabbing so I Clay Bar it, get new blade and it's clear as crystal.

I bought the kit for the body but never found time to do it yet... Just another winter project.

Does wonders on the paint. You don't know how dirty your paint is until you clay bar.

water spots are alkali based, so you need something on the acid side of the ph scale to remove it.
Citrus cleaners work very well

Vinegar works well for getting rid of the smell in dark towels that you can't bleach. The vinegar smell goes away in the dryer. I/we put the vinegar in the detergent and fabric softener dispensers. Use fabric softener sheets instead of the liquid which builds up on towels (vinegar helps remove that too)

I'll be trying vinegar on the interior car windows - that film is hard to clean off streak-free.

I did the clay bar on my windows, what a difference, just use soap and water on the inside if its a 80's Porsche cause there is a coating that is sensitive to certain cleaners

I used vinegar/water with a couple drops of bleach and phone book pages. Crystal clear again.

I did the 911 windows, just for good measure.

When I was a kid in the midwest we used Coke to take the rust off chrome bumpers and trim.

Got caught in a short rain shower at night in my bugeye (no windshield washers) and the dirty windshield smeared so badly I could hardly see. Bought a bottle (this was years ago ) of Coke and poured it over the windshield with the wipers on - instant crystal clear.

As far as what Coke does to your stomach, probably nothing - stomach acid's many times stronger than anything in Coke.

Coke will also clear up your plugged nose, even totally eat away your septum with repeated use. But they stopped putting that coke in Coke years ago.

I use Stoner's Invisible Glass to clean my glass and if it's really bad, I use a clay bar. I then treat the glass with Rejex after it's nice and clean.
