The picture does it better justice than the real thing. It's a bit faded and has some road rash in a few spots.

I tell the chicks at the bar that I ate it on my Ducati once, and I don't ride bikes anymore but keep the jacket as a reminder.

Works every time.

vinman, i think the late 80's bikes were called "slingshots". nevertheless, my buddy had the same bike, but maybe blue. when he bought the thing, it dragged me into a world of doing stupid stuff.

the turning point was going down hwy 101 (i was on a honda 600 F4?, maybe) and doing 130ish past candlestick. my friend passed me like i was standing still, with our friend alexandria on the back. i broke out in a sweat seeing speed at that perspective, and slowed down for life. i dont think we were wearing helmets.

Vash, me and my buddies back then, definately set some speed records traveling from Staten Island down to the Jersey Shore. Didnt think twice flying down the Garden State Parkway at 130, 140. Last one in our shore house driveway had to pick up the beer for the weekend. One bud had a Ninja 750 turbo. which my bike was still able to eat alive. Another had a GS550 and the other had a VFR750
We pulled some real idiotic stuff , but when youre in your early 20's you are invincible. My turning point was going down at 75 on the Staten Island expressway. A car pulled into my lane without signaling and tapped me. I caught a bad shake and I had to lay the bike down. I lucked out with a little road rash on my arm and knee. Bike suffered major plastic damage.

Yeah that bike also came in blue and white and a rare Limited edition red white and blue.

After riding nothing but a few dirt bikes once or twice, a friend of a friend let me borrow a Duc 748 to take down the highway and back once. I was 19 I think.

I never told him that I had never ridden a streetbike of any kind before. I get on, pull out of the driveway, and 30 seconds later I was doing around 130 MPH. Cake.

yep, I don't need one.

My scary bike story:

My younger brother upgraded his crotch rocket a few years back. We had gotten together on a holiday weekend and the subject got around to me riding his bike. I had limited bike experience but I AM the older bro so I should be able to do it.

I think it was a Yamaha 750 something. (I don't remember and he has had several more bikes after.) I am not scared of speed and have driven at speeds up to 150MPH on an open road and 130 MPH in the quarter mile, both times in cars.

I hop on and take off up the street, nice and easy. On my way back, I figure he wants to hear the exhaust rev so I hold 1st for a bit and then hammer it just before where he is standing and pop 2nd. BIIIIIIG mistake at full throttle!!!!!

The front end comes up and I about poopeth my pants. I didn't crash but sure thought I was going to. I got it turned around, rode back to him and said "Don't EVER let me ride a crotch rocket again".

Oh yeah.

Vinnie,

Rod Stewart called. He wants his 80's hair back!!!!!!!!

j/k I could never get the "shag/punk shape with mine.
