remastered beatles white album

Damn. great album. I had this double lp album growing up. It came with 4 8 by 10 glossy photographs of the band. It has just been remastered and released. Sometimes its nice to actually buy a cd and listen to it compared to mp3's. The re-mastering is hard to compare to the existing cd's, but it does sound exceptional. Something about the white album also is that each song just kind of flows into each other, like its one BIG song. Just can't get that stuff anymore.

The Beatles White was the start of the transition from the Beatles as a band to the Beatles as a group of four very talented individuals. I have the mono set on order but the White and Abbey Road stereos will end up in my collection too.

I'll have check it out. Strange enough, I got interested in the White Album only after hearing the Grey Album.

Great stuff

[conspiracy theory]

Another great Beatles remaster product available because of the Sir Paul hit on Michael Jackson via the Dr.

I have an original copy of the White Album that has never been played. Complete with the posters and everything. My grandmother bought it when it came out (why, I don't know) and never played it.

I was hoping it would be worth something one day, but probably not now.

Too funny

I guys if you were around when it was new the White Album might have different meaning, but to a slightly younger generation it got lost between Led Zep and Jimi. Not sure I'll buy it, but thanks to Dangermouse at least I listened to it.

Besides, it's an album, not just one song.

Free your mind

The re-masters are very nicely done. I picked up the White Album, Sgt Pepper and Revolver in stereo. I still have the original vinyl in mono.

The was the worst "music" ever. How is that related to the White Album?

well the rare stuff is the big bucks in record collecting
beatles butcher cover is one [recalled and pasted over]
along with the early records on vee jay before catital
much like the sun records by Elvis P

but unplayed is allways worth more so yes it should have some value
I would guess 50 to 100 for that record

btw I have white vinyl copy [rerelease ten years after the original]

but my best ever yard sale find was a beatles 65 copy with writting on it
I almost put it back in the pile but read it
''luv you john lennon''on the back along with paul's
with george and ringo and paul again on the front side
with a additional signature from their A/R rep as she got the album signed for a friend
the roadshow said a signed beatles album is worth up to 20k

The mono remasters are actually better than the stereo versions. IMHO

The Grey Album isn't someone singing over the White Album, that would be crappy. It's someone who has such an innate and keen ear for music realizing that two totally independent works, from different eras, different styles, happen to overlay *just right*. He took the White Album, and the completely unrelated and different Black Album, and mixed them together (basically just overlayed specific songs) to create the Grey Album. Listen through the whole thing and you'll be amazed how well it works, which (to some people) proves that humans have a basic soundtrack that runs in our blood, and our music is just ways to put that soundtrack outloud.

Oh, wait, that's right, this has something to do with Jay-Z, and some of you will refuse to have anything to do with rap, even sight unseen. OK, move along.
