Sold my MazdaSpeed3!

Hey guys, you know how much I enjoy driving my 2007 MazdaSpeed3, well I really want a 2010 model (last year for this car) and I want a red car, not black. My coworker likes my car almost as much as I do so he's buying it and I'm buying a 2010 MazdaSpeed3 in True Red this week. The numbers worked out and I'm very happy about it because my coworker really wants my car and I wanted a red one, but didn't want the hassle of selling it on Craigslist or Ebay. I've taken fantastic care of the car, so my friend is getting an excellent vehicle. The 2007 MazdaSpeed3 has 38k on it, I've changed the oil every 4k miles with AMSOIL 5W30 and have AMSOIL 75/90 in the gearbox. The car is bone stock except for the new shift bushings I installed to tighten up the gearshift mechanism. It's really nice to have a fun daily driver and an old 911 in the garage to drive on special days!

Good call, I'd happily take one for a DD. I'm still not sold on the smiley face bumper, but the interior in the 2010 3 belongs in a much more expensive car.

I wonder how I would like that compared to my 325i?

Congratulations. Not a fan at all of the 2010 design either, but True Red is the same color as my Father's 09 MS3 and is absolutely beautiful.

Happy driving!

I like the 2010 model a lot. But "the last year?" Will Mazda no longer build the car?

I've heard that this is the last year for the MS3 (reliable source). I'm trying to find a front mask (bra) to put on the car to hide the smiley face and to protect the paint. I should be picking up the car this afternoon!

Oops, it's called "Velocity Red" this year instead of "True Red". Whatever they call it, I like it much better than black!

Um...unless they changed things, Velocity Red is not what you're expecting...our 2006 is Vel Red, and it's the more metallic color with hints of maroon in it. Very different than True Red.

I'm surprised you're going to the 2nd gen model. I can't stand the new one, and considered trading in our 2006 N/A version just so we could get our hands on a 2009 turbo while they were still around. I'm not sure if buying a used turbo is a good idea, I have a bad feeling they've all been...abused...just as we would do to it

Nothing personal, but I'll believe that when I see it. What could be the possible reason?

I like the smiley face -- it's distinctive, and there's too much anger in the world, anyway. Plus it will match your smiley face everytime you leave some idiot behind when you get on it.

I have 111 miles on the 2010 MazdaSpeed3 and I love it! The color, ride, acceleration, handling, interior "refinements" are all excellent... I don't like the front, but I'll get a bra as soon as they are available for the 2010 MS3, as the regular M3's nose is different and the bras will be different, as well. The red is metallic and I've already got 2 good coats of Rejex on it. The chassis/suspension is stiffer and the car handles potholes much better. I'm really happy with the car and my coworker/friend is vary happy with my old 2007 MS3 (39k on the odometer).

I've got 300 miles on the 2010 Speed3 and I love it! It's just as fast as the 2007 and handles even better (stiffer suspension) and the interior is fantastic! I feel like I'm in a BMW, with the Navi and Bose 10-speaker sound system. Bluetooth phone and the Sirius radio are cool. I am getting used to the styling and lines, but I still want to put a front mask on the car to protect the paint and cover the smiley face!

art, glad you love it.

the buyer of my car 2008.5, installed a big front sway, and is exploring other suspension options. i did ask him why not get a brandnew model, he replied that he didnt like the styling.

i should show you a photo of my very disorganized desk. sitting on top of the mess, is a photo of (probably) your exact car. i love the new look. i felt the older model had a big front end. reminded me of Quincy's (the atopsy dude) big gin blossomed nose. all the good photos were rear quarter away shots. i do miss my car, but it simply didnt fit my life.

Cliff,
I'm getting used to the look of the car, but I'll put a bra on the "smiley face" as soon as they are available for the 2010. I have 400 miles on the car and I'm very impressed with what they did to the car, very nice improvements but it's still fun!!
