Pawn Stars TV Show

Tonight on one of the episodes of Pawn Stars an old boy walked in by the name of Keith. He wanted to sell the Pawn Shop a Springfield Trapdoor Model 1884 Rifle. He wanted $1600 and settled on $1500.

One thing, is that I know Keith, Keith runs an ad in every issue of Gun Digest advertising his Trapdoor Springfields under the banner of Trapdoors Galore. He has lived and sold Trapdoors in LV for decades, and is nationaly recognized for being a Trapdoor expert. So for him to sell to a Pawn Shop begs credulity and the fact that they gave him $1500 on a gun which which they should havve bought for $600 to make any money on..All smells of a SET UP to pad the program.

I had Keith clean a Trapdoor Carbine and a Rifle that belonged to Medal Of Honor winner Otto Voit so that I could have it tested to see if it was at the Battle of the Litle Big Horn..

I hear people talking about the show all the time, will have to wait for someone to give me a copy of an episode (no broadcast service in my house). It would have to be a pretty special Trapdoor for your buddy to get $1500 at my pawnshop. No stars though.

I watch the show and think it really explains how the economy should work. You have something to sell and you have your price. I need to buy it at my price and flip it to make a profit. If we don't agree we walk away. eBay face to face.

Also shows how buying the unknown, like that broken down boat the son bought is a stupid move. The dad could have killed him for that.

It's a bummer when a reality based show does this... I guess you have to fill up the program some how. They should also introduce some type of time limit to pump up the suspense. They seem to do that on every other reality show on discovery... Also, if there is any type of danger involved they should mention again how dangerous it is at least every 30 seconds...

I still love the show though... the old man is the best!

I said I knew the guy, I didn't say he was a Buddy.

There were no ejection seats in WW2..so I knew that dog didn't hunt.

I wouldn't have imagined that I would like this show but I really do. Be in that business for a while and you will know a lot of things about a lot of things.

Yes, there were ejection seats in WWII. Better review the archives. Ejection seats have existed since 1916. And were operational in WWII.

Here we go with the WWII master......we all know the French ALL had them in their planes - they hit them at the first sign of 109's.

Seriously - not in US/British planes they didn't. If you call a couple hundred German planes operational then I guess so. Surely nothing that was seen regularity had them.

For me the jump the shark episode was when a guy wanted/needed to sell an early A Ford roadster and his auto shop buddy charged him like $8K for what looked a a total resto/paint/wheels/chrome - you couldn't have gotten a deal like that even if it was in Mexico

Where can you BUY an ALL STEEL BODY 29 Ford Roadster for $7500..that runs...

Where can you buy one like the guy early in the show had for $22,000.

Buddy of mine from CA bought one here in LV about 3 years ago for 28K (ran well but was a rat out of MO) ..and to get it right has about 60K in it.

NO fkin way...

Who limited the claim to US models? No one on this thread.

What does "operational" mean? A few hundred or a few thousand, even a few single digit, all qualify as operational if used in a combat field environment after being accepted by the military.

So please pinpoint the error of my post. Otherwise just accept the facts for what they really are.
