Every car that enters LeMans is a "passenger car" in that they have to have a passenger seat and a place for a spare tire. Ergo, the R15 Audi could compete for this record. And, hey, Ingolstadt is just down the road from the 'ring!

It's not a spare tire mount, it has to have an empty space large enough for a spare tire. You don't have to carry the spare. Part of the arcane rules of LeMans. And years ago, the Andretti's entry was disallowed because that space was too small.

I've been around the track in an Atom. Face tearingly fast!!
And sound!! A whine like a deepfrozen cat being cut in half on a tablesaw. Banshee style! I've got a few small movie files, but no idea how to upload. I don't think it's a question of being street legal. It's just that they refer to the radical as a passenger car... Like we're talking Volvo's here... It is nothing more than a two seater racing car. And I still doubt that they used street legal, off the shelf tires.
