Snakes Alive!

Now here are some Rattl'rs! Never thought Eastern Timberbacks (which I think these are) could get so big...

15 Ft Rattle Snake caught outside the St. Aug. Outlet Mall in Fla:

Caught near Oktaha OK that is just outside of Muskogee and north of Checotah.

The reason for snake boots during dove season. Just under 8 feet

and weighs 89 pounds:

I never heard of them that big either but I think they are reputed to be the biggest ones usually found in the US. Even the 'small three footers' scare me when I find them on the property. One May I got 13 in six weeks !

So the guy is about that distance further from the camera than the snake is.

We've covered this "trick" in other "huge snake" threads... it's bogus.

You could hold an earthworm out toward the camera on a longer stick and it would look like it was as long as the guy is tall.

The only way to legitimately claim a snake is a certain length is to lay it out straight on the ground and put a tape measure right beside it.

BTW, those other two photos' bogus length claims are ridiculous, too... especially the first one.

Good catch Got me there....actually I started to find them around the first of May and it continued for about six weeks. I think the reason for so many in such a short time as the excavation for the septic system...ground vibration by the earth moving equipment likely pi$$ed them off.... Some were just babies too...
