Craigslist stereo SCORE

I'm picking it up tonight at 7... for a price that I will post after I get it... but.... it's a f***ing STEAL. IF everything works as advertised... I am literally stealing this stereo.

Vintage 80's Sansui rack.

Includes the speakers. It's not top of the line Sansui stuff by any means (it's actually their low grade consumer US model run of the mill 80's stereo) but it comes with the speakers, the amp, the tuner, the tape deck, the EQ, the turntable, and the cabinet. And the original user manuals. And it all supposedly works.

I have waaaaay too much stereo equipment already but Craigslist is just giving me offers too good to pass up. I'm a sucker for 80's hi fi's. Sure, the sound quality isn't nearly as good as what you can get with even cheaper modern stereo equipment... but it's the whole ensemble that makes these pieces... the black cabinet... the racks of components...

I must have.

Looks like Criterion speakers. Had a pair that rocked me through the 80s.

I have a stack of very similar stuff in my garage.
Probably thousands of homes across America have the same.
It all still works but has been replaced with never stuff a couple of times over the last 30 years.

I still have a Sansui 871DB reciever and speakers that I bought in the late 70's. Unfortunately theWife gave my Dual turntable to Salvation Army.

I'm still using the Allied amp / Dual turntable my parents bought new in 1972. Works great. No clue who made the speakers though since they pulled the stickers off the back decades ago. Also got a mid-'60s Pioneer amp with at least a couple dozen tubes in it waiting for me to have the time to fix it up. I have no clue what any of this is worth, if anything.

I'm in need of a tape deck and turntable after my old RCA system finally ate it. it was manufactured in 82 I think. I still have a lot of tapes and vinyl I still listen to. Also, the Porsche only has a tape player. I need a new machine to dub tapes on!

If you're addicted to old 80's hifi - I've got a fantastic Nikko Alpha I amp I'm looking to unload.... Sucker weighs in at around 65# is 2 channel and 220 (real) watts per channel.

With some chassis weight! Don't forget Yamaha and Kenwood.

Shumi - I can't congratulate you on a great score, because, well, it's low end Sansui from the '80's. Not much "there" there.

IMHO, of course.

Well...they were asking $125 on the 7th. He scored by waiting until the 11th when they lowered the price!

One man's trash....well, you know the rest.

My mid-70's Sansui AU-717 integrated amp (85 wrms/ch) is still the heart of our main family room system. Possibly because I can't lift the thing! Bought it as a kid still living with parents. Turned 50 recently. Sounds amazing through a pare of Castle monitors.

I have an old stereo system where the weakest link in the sound loop is the human ear.

If ya wana look for something look for McIntosh, or a NAK 1000 Cassette deck, or any of the other esoteric stereo stuff from the 60's threw the 90's. Look for the high end stuff..always buy QUALITY..it pays off in the end.

I have McIntosh that I bought in the late 70's which is still worth what I paid for it way back in the day.

My brother is still using his Sansui... probably 30 years old (the Sansui not my brother )

I have an old BIC dual speed cassette player... if you were local I would give it to you.

I got it all for $50. May not sound like that great of a deal considering it's not very high end stuff, but the speakers sparked my interest. They're pretty rare, and sound excellent. The rest of the stuff will get assimilated into my collection. I probably won't ever use the amp, but the tape deck and turntable are nice and work great. The turntable is 'computerized'... you never touch arm, it's all buttons. It's nice to have a working turntable again. They are always cheap on yardsales but usually always need needles.. which is usually either impossible to find or expensive now.
