My new (to me) .45 ACP

Argentine Sistema Colt. Made from original Colt tooling back in the late 1940's. Is in excellent condition. Can't wait to shoot it this weekend. Got it at buy it now price of $499, late at night, off of Gunbrokers. My local gun shop just appraised it at around $800. And yes the sights and trigger are not original, but I consider both to be good upgrades.

Looks like a great gun. Be sure to post your first range report for it.

Nice. I like the basic, no frills approach to the 1911. Just enough upgrades to make it a better shooter. Here's mine, a mil-spec Springfield, one of only two semi-auto handguns I own. The other gun is an old Charter Arms Bulldog Pug in .44 Special.

Yuppers,
Carried a 1911 Combat Commander as a duty weapon for 10 years, thing was a scalpel at less than 20 yards.
Enjoy

personal preference... bit when it counts the 9.

I was trained with an M9... but I still go back to the .45 for comfort... I've never felt comfortable with the Beretta even though placement is more consistent.... but give me a Beretta 687 EELL with fixed chokes... that's balance... and a beautiful thing to handle.

Nice looking gun. I just saw one at a gunshow, a little more worn than yours for 750.

Thanks! Somebody reblued these 2 1911's pretty poorly, so I'm having them reParkerized this winter. I found a guy who does great work and even though it ruins their value as a collectible, I really don't care. When they were reblued, the value was diminished, so reParkerizing will only give them their original appearance and I'll be passing these on to my son when the time comes, I won't part with them for any other reason...
