Apparently the only blade allowed in PPOT is a Cold Steel Katana.

Randall Model 1, or Model 14. Or, maybe an old Cold Steel "Intruder" Bowie.

I sure love mine!!!
Seriously, i've had this CSK for about a month now, it's is a serious sword. It comes razor freakin' sharp too. This is my Zombie knife though: ![]() The M7 Bayonet will take and hold a razor's edge, it's a healthy sized weapon, is sufficiently strong to use as a tool in a pinch, and it fits on the end of my AR too. Best part, you can get one for about $30 bucks Army surplus. US Army issued, Zombie approved. Last edited by m21sniper; 10-22-2009 at 07:49 PM.. |

I have always like that SOG Daggert, but I have had other knives similar over the years.
You have to ask yourself, what are you going to use it for??? For lookin' cool? For lookin' threatening? Well the Daggert certainly does that. Grandpa taught me a few things as a kid and some of them stuck. Carry a wallet. And not one of those velcro things either. A nice leather wallet. Wear a wristwatch. A cellphone does not substitute. Carry a pocketknife. Form follows function in this regard. We already have to carry around enough crap in our pockets, so get the lightest knife you can but large enough to do anything you'd need it for. Benchmade 530 Benchmade 530 Serrated Locking Knife at REI.com Folding, spring loaded locking. 1.8 ounces!!!! I'm not a fanboy whore for the Benchmade above, but that one is about the most perfect thing in the mainstream market right now. I carry the Gerber EVO, at 2.8 ounces. Benchmade 530 Serrated Locking Knife at REI.com When the zombie apocalypse comes, you will probably not have that BAK (big azz knife) on your person. And you won't want to go home to get it, that's the first place the zombies look, duh. But chances are you'll have your trusty folding knife right there where it always is, in your pocket.

![]() Benchmade Mini Griptilion This is my EDC... I did use the Spyderco Adventura but it was a bit heavy. The Spyderco is a better knife but the Benchmade is the perfect EDC, very sharp and light ! really love the one handed operation. Last edited by chuckr; 10-23-2009 at 05:17 AM.. |

Zombie Knives are distinct from some of your other knives. They need certain characteristics, and a proper zombie killer should plan ahead:
Zombies move erratically, and might have random leftover steel plates or pins in them. You might want a folding knife for the convenience of carry, but they risk getting closed on your hand and cutting your fingers off when that zombie makes a random lurching move while you stab it (this makes for little zombie fingers crawling around...). Therefore, you need something that shrinks like a folder, but cannot close on you when in use. Balisong: ![]() ![]() Lets say you're up against a Cyborg Zombie (yikes!). you'll need something that is capable of severing the titanium sheath that encases it's undead cybernetic spinal cord...you need tool steel for that: ![]() Then there's the times when you need a quick response knife, for those times when you got your others stuck on particularly dessicated zombies who then ran away. This calls for an automatic: ![]() Finally, you need something a bit classier for when the King of England wants to throw a ceremony for you after you defeat the zombie armies. Also, this classier knife is useful when that supermodel-turned-zombie comes along, and you want to go on a date before dispatching her... ![]() PLANNING is the only thing that will get you safely through World War Z.

Nice, I'm not actually a fan of serrated blades, or tanto blades. I have a Benchmade/Balisong copy of that balisong that I bought when I was in Japan. It's got solid brass handles and a blade like your bottom knife.
My AFCK is the old liner lock model with ATS-34 steel blade. I like it, but based on my current carry knife, I'd love to have an Axis lock model. Is yours D2 tool steel? My current blade is. It seems to hold an edge longer than the ATS-34.

![]() The Balisong is actually an original Model 44, not the newfangled ones they make. As for serrations...I'm not a fan either, but sometimes you gotta take them, they have such a dominance of the market. You really should just find a source for the AFO you want, private sale kinda thing hint hint hint...

Busse Combat. Jerry Busse's INFI steel is the best possible compromise in edge retention, toughness, and stain resistance in any knife steel I have ever tried. And I have tried quite a bit.
His warranty is the absolute best in the industry as well: You break it, they replace it.

Hey Guys! Lots of really nice blades !!! Snipe, I think I have either a M6 or M7 Bayonet, it is the one for the M1A... I just need to get a sheath for it.... Also, I bet your CSK is awesome... I just picked up a Musashi Katana off of Evilbay delivered to the door for $54. It is in no way comparible to your CSK, but for an entry level katana, it gets alot of rave reviews. Mine is very clean and tight.... looks like it was put together very well...
