Oregon THRASHED USC.

It was a miserable broadcast. Brent Musberger had trouble speaking with Pete Carroll's dick in his mouth.

Oregon has better defensive backs and can cover man to man. Oregon will be blitzing Barkley(I like him) often and from multiple formations. He will throw at least 2 interceptions and be hit like he has never been before.

It should be a good game. Oregon wins.

Cha-ching. Surprised that Oregon did not blitz more, but they really did not have to.

Too many offensive weapons and a game plan that simply overwhelmed USC. Their defense was gassed by the no huddle offense.

Beautiful blowout.

So Sammy, which team will upset USC this year? I can't wait to hear Herbstreet explain why USC is still the best team ever, despite being beaten by Stanford.
My reply was:
Dunno, but it'll prolly happen on Halloween.

Things are about to get interesting in the SEC. Not that any of the SEC teams are very good, but LSU could end up knocking off #1 and #2 by seasons end. I'm fairly certain they are going to take it to Alabama in Tuscaloosa next weekend, then if they can skate by Arkansas, they go in and knock off an overrated Florida in the SEC champ game. Bye bye SEC, no championship game for you this year.

Hopefully Iowa can win out and college football fans all over the world will get to see the Hawkeyes play best team in the nation, Texas, for all the marbles.

And since Texas has been two teams that were ranked in the top 25, you think they're #1????? What a joke!

But, who cares, they will play in the Las Vegas Bowl.

True.

What happens if Alabama and Florida both win out, and go into the SEC Championship game ranked #1 and 2?

And then that's a very close game.

Would they play each other again in the BCS Championship game?

I think if you are going to post something like that you should have the class to admit you edited it, or as they say, fixed it for you. I didn't post that.

No. Texas would play the winner of the Bama v Fla. SEC championship game in the BCS championship game. However, I'm not convinced that LSU wouldn't jump over all the zero loss teams if they win out. Just have to believe that the pollsters and CPU will do the right thing for zero loss teams, especially if it's Iowa. In that case, if Iowa wins out and doesn't go and LSU does, all hell will break loose and the death of the BCS is on.

sammyg2 11-02-2009 07:42 AM

LOL, I'm a big USC fan but when I discuss football, I try to do it objectively. I look at facts, I try to analyze the teams honestly. Even if it means saying something negative about a team I like.

Lots O'fans make statements teams based on emotion. Some times I feel like I'm in the minority but it seems like it might be a cultural thing. maybe that's what being a fan is all about, I dunno.
Smaller towns or areas in the country where college football is more prevalent or more important to the fan base seems to breed more emotion. Heck in Knoxville, saying something logical or honest (and negative) about the vols might get you strung up.

Shuie 11-02-2009 07:47 AM

LSU is not going to win out. I keep hearing people talk about it, but I can't believe anyone honestly thinks they have a chance of beating Bama, Arkansas, and then Florida. It wont happen. I do think a one loss SEC champ would still play in the BCS title game, tho.
