For the longest time I thought tabs really was talking about actual Spoons and since I didn't care about that I never clicked. Then I realized it was a code word for guns. But I don't understand why. So why? Someone explain it to me????

I remember one thread in particular where he posted photos of a spoon. That's the first that I remember. I don't know how that relates to the spoon=gun thing.

Actually I think it goes back to 2002 in an OT thread about gun control...years before PARF. Leland Pate made a reference to spoons being used as weapons in response to a post by Tabby and Cam.
Post #76...first ever reference to spoons in OT. Guns - a topic from the 911 Board...

That'd be just like tabs, to take some obscure reference and carry on forever.

Do not try to bend the spoon — that's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth: there is no spoon.

I was under the assumption that a "spoon" was any collectable with a potential increase in value. firearms just seem to be the son's flavor at this time.

My brother had the office next to the character IPR was based upon at USL. Apparently O'Toole was highly accurate in his descriptive efforts.

I've had brunch, dinner and cigars with Tabs. He is a very, very sharp person.
