Some aspects of modern life that I don't care for.
(Just sayin', not trying to offend anyone)
• The Progressive Insurance spokeswoman • The term "Man Cave" • Brand new cars that become essentially disposable. The average guy can't work on them, but the cost of repairs soon outweighs the car value. I have more, but you get the idea.

Things I don't get about modern life:
- Texting - Always keeping the bluetooth device in your ear, even when not on the phone. (What's the point? "Look at me!!! Look at me!! I have a bluetooth device in my ear!!! I MUST BE RICH, FAMOUS AND/OR IMPORTANT!!!!) - Cars that save stupid drivers (3 levels of traction control, 10 airbags, YAW control...etc.) -Z-man.

Cell phones. I have used one for coming up to 20 years & I would be much less efficient without one. But I still hate it. And I really hate the way many people's lives revolve around it.

Always being within contact, and expected to answer when called.
Sometimes I just want to be left alone, especially if I'm working on something at home or the car. Don't think the wife appreciates it so much when I ignore the mobile though... especially when it's her calling. Sometimes I think of it as a leash.

I'm actually pretty happy in this modern age...
Cars that don't break down just because it's raining. The information age of the internet - you don't have to listen to some old tosser who thinks he knows all about some subject. Relaxing of laws regarding porn etc. Cheaper air fares and travel. Better and more variety of food. |
