Although it doesn't seem possible, it will be 10 years ago tomorrow that Greg Moore was lost.

I just looked up that acident and it is really sad. They said he was hit by a car in the paddock the day before and broke his hand. They rigged him up with carbon fiber so he could drive that day.

Time flys and Greg was a great guy, I raced him a couple of times the year he ran Formula Fords and beat him once too, mind you something went wrong with his car and he DNF. A bunch of us guys lent Greg wheels for a week. He went to Seattle and rented the track for 3-4 days and fine tuned his unstoppable talent. He was also a very good hockey goalie and probably would have turned pro had he not chosen racing.

I was right there when it happened. It was the most terrifyingly violent crash I have ever seen. His car came to rest 20 yards from us. Everyone knew it was going t be really really bad right away.

He was my favorite CART racer at the time and I was looking forward to him moving to Penske.

I think we all knew he was gone instantly. A very sad day

That was a tough day at the track, watching the flag lowered to half mast after the accident. A true talent taken away too soon.

Didn't watch any racing for a while, no interest. RIP, Greg. Your talent was stratospheric.
