Mathew Brady collection?
The level of detail when enlarged is excellent. Many of these were presented in Ken Burns Civil War series a few years back. Thanks Marc. |

I read somewhere that thousands of the glass plates that the photos were printed from were used in greenhouses and windows after the Civil War.

There are some really amazing photos in both of those links.
I also enjoy looking through old magazines and books from the 40s, 50s and 60s (and even the 70s) when they have photos of everyday life, people and places. Anyone got any more interesting photo links?
