Should card the ones that threw the first blatant elbow..this one was just retaliating. Video intentionally only showed one side. Refs let it get out of hand.
She has been suspended indefinitely. Funny there is such a double standard between men and women's sports. An actual fistfight in a men's game would not receive the same noteriety or punishment as this hair pulling incident in a women's game.

The elbow you saw may have been the retaliatory action before the hair pull-down. Video doesn't show what may have happened previously. What do you know about the intent of the videographer? However, other scenes of #15 in action tell me enough, and should to you as well. She AND her coach should be suspended. Her for her repeated conduct on the field; the coach for allowing that behavior to continue. If I was a parent on the sidelines, I'd give the coach a piece of my mind and take it higher up the chain of command. No place in sport for this type of play or coaching.

The young lady from New Mexico will most likely experience a very hard lesson in life, one that might very well follow her for many years. She might be better off looking for employment in the WWF or as PR director for a semi pro men's hockey team, she's right up there with the ***** that had Nancy Kerrigan wacked in the knees.

Bet her parents are really proud!

Well soccer is a puss game after all. She only toughened it up a bit .

Soccer isn't supposed to be a contact sport although there's a lot of incidental contact. I wouldn't characterize it as a puss game. Probably some of the best conditioned athletes play. Ever play yourself?

One could describe the same comparison between football and rugby. One contact sport uses pads and helmet; the other doesn't. Who's tougher now?

The little elbows, pushing, shirt pulling, etc is all part of the game. The vicious cleat first tackles, hair pulling etc is across the line and does not belong in the game.

Yes I played as a school boy. Then I got into ice hockey as a goalie in college. Then I played rugby for 20 seasons, in the front row of the scrum.

Soccer is a puss game.

I played soccer in college for 3 years and I played basketball pretty much my whole life. Basketball is 10x physically rougher than soccer.

Rugby v Football? Football by far. If you have ever been speared in football you would would trade it in 200 scrums for it. In ruggers flesh on flesh hurts but in football, head or shoulder on arm / leg / back just doesn't feel all that nice.

You prefer contact sports. That's fine. I prefer more functioning body parts with age. I prefer bball, tennis and cycling, all not without their risks for injury, but the odds are lower.

Well you are right on with that assessment. I am paying for that indulgence that's for sure. Youthful testosterone and all that.

Every athlete knows that the second foul gets called. The reason being the refs often don't see the first one.

Schoolboy soccer may be a puss game. But I played beyond my schoolboy years. I played for a college dorm team in England, and that was no puss game. I once played a pick-up game with a bunch of San Jose Earthquakes. Definitely not a puss game. And yes, actually, it is a contact sport.

If two guys square off and start throwing punches, at least that is even combat. It doesn't belong in sports (except boxing) but at least it has some semblence of fairness to it.
What that beotch did (and the lowlife from florida did) was chicken sheet.

no class, no sportsmanship, no morals, no ethics.
hitting other players in the back, tripping other players, pulling another player's hair from the back. Chicken sheet.

She has issues and serious punishment would be the best motivation for her to get her act together.

She'll sign with a professional team within a year if they don't lift the suspension... talent is always forgiven and her box office draw will be beneficial to whoever signs her. If her family is smart they will get ahead of the curve and spin the energy and exposure and get positive traction... reviews show she was provoked... was her response way over the top... yeah... but so was every Rambo movie ever made... it's a timeless formula.

Right. But meanwhile, did you hear about that Oregon Duck player who was reinstated after he cold cocked a player on the other team? Yes, he was suspended a few games, but he was reinstated.

IMO, it's not fair to get rid of her and keep him around.

You guys must know how *****y mean chicks can be. Perhaps the other team had it out for this girl and after enough pecking she had enough. We don't see the whole game in that video, nor does the video capture all the nudging and pecking. Maybe the girl is just too short tempered, but if this had been a men's game, the first little dirty trick would have been taken cared of by the two guys. Then again, I've seen male teams pick on another teams player too.

Unsportsmanlike. Sure. But it takes two to
dance. Back in the day we use to go down to the local soccer field where all sorts of mens team would practice and we'd pick up a game. Boy were there a lot of fights in those games. Flying kleats can easily cut facial skin.

As a defender, I used to get assigned to guard the other team's best forward. The first time he checked back to the midfield for a ball, he was on the ground. I had to send a message that he was not going to have an easy touch all game. I would battle with guys for 90 straight minutes, committing about 10 times as many fouls as were actually called. But everything was within the bounds of sportsmanship and it always ended with us shaking hands and telling each other how fun the fight was.
