1st of all, I think I have made my feelings about cheap shots in sporting events. How this chick didn't get pulled, well I guess she gives one hell of a Blow Job to the ref...

Those two girls need to settle this like Ladies, they need too............................................... .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ......................................

Nothing wayward at all about continual sharp elbows into the ribcage of a defender. Funny that it is ok to use an elbow on a defender...but the defender cannot hit back? You can't elbow the person in front of you.

I didn't assume she was provoked...I saw it...over and over.

She didn't think about the camera which carried a different sort of penalty. Her coach could review the game film to see if she was provoked by the BYU team. He did, and he suspended her, that tells you all you need to know...

You must be watching a different video than the one in this thread. So you think the other team's players were waiting until the referee was watching to elbow her or pull down her shorts? LOL.

Her coach had no choice. They did not suspend her until days later. There was no mention of it prior to the viral video clip.

The key word in your response is, "Likely"
"Likely, if the BYU fouls to Lambert had been called..she would have never retaliated."

That's pure conjecture on your part. Being in control of one's emotions is part of competitive sports, and Lambert wasn't. That was clear, wasn't it? Ok. We'll assume Lambert was fouled (tugged short). Now you contend she's free to retaliate w/o penalty, or it's justified to yank the player down by her hair? Please. Try harder...

You insult my expertise in the sports arena...and then make the case that a more closely called game would not have been less rough. That is just silly.

You bring it on yourself with the "no harm, no foul" theory. Maybe that's the way you officiate or play your particular sports. That's fine, but that's not the way it's usually called at the amateur level.

BTW, you're responding to something I didn't say.

Wouldn't it be easier to just argue what I post instead of what you would like for me to post? Paraphrasing me wrong does not help your argument one bit. Not only did I not claim "no harm, no foul"...I posted exactly the opposite. That not enough fouls were called and both players were fouling...and the game should have be called much closer to keep the roughness from escalating. What I did post was that if they called the first foul, the second was less likely...and your response was "That's pure conjecture on your part." Get a grip.
Yes, of course that is how I play. If another player keeps fouling me and taking me out of play and the ref never calls it...I am not going to just stand there picking my nose and let my team lose. I am going to give back exactly what I am getting...plus about 20 percent. I have never met a halfway decent athlete that would not (men or women)...otherwise thay are pwned (tell me what that is like). As I posted before "If you are a player and don't fight through the holds and cheap shots like Lambert did...you agree to lose. The women are not little princesses. These are tough athletes." Obviously Lambert got a little carried away in the heat of the game and played right into their hands with the hair pull that was instantly followed by the other girl throwing herself on the ground...but on the other hand..if she had let them continue to push her around with the cheap shots...she would have been benched and her team would have lost anyways. A good knee or elbow would have hurt much more and apparently been more acceptable to the hysterical, sexist men that are all upset that women play hard too.

Why are you debating someone that has created a fantasy to fit a preconceived narrative? You are bound by unemotional facts. He has no such limitations. At every turn, he can create a fictional "what must have happened...what we didn't see but likely was there" to fit his argument. He can inject multiple personae into complex plots without care.

Preconceived narratives are wonderful devices when used with skill and guile on the internets.

I have hope in mankind. I think most people can be redeemed. :)

Ever seen a Lacrosse game? My son plays. You'd probably try and sue all the players. He loves getting in the mix, just like all young men.

You are exactly why I don't want anyone to tell me how to live my life: You dissemble, accuse, erect Straw Men, defend SM, talk about shades of gray, attack and then get coy.

Stay on point, S, if you have one.

And you saw the entire game, or you were there. If not, there is no context to discuss unless UNM womens soccer is one of your fantasy sports.
