Least was $50 for a 1968 Beetle which I drove everyday for 2 years...this was around 1986. Most expensive (and least enjoyable) was my 2006 4runner, which I have pledged to keep for the rest of my life. It's the only, and perhaps last, new vehicle I ever bought. Well, I might succomb to the Cayman urge at some point but we'll see....

1970 Opel GT. Paid $1500. Lots of bondo and even more electrical problems. When it was driving it was a lot of fun. Lowered w/ Koni's. Buddy and I went to the drive in movies and all of the sudden smoke started to come out of the dash, typical. I do remember one coming into the station with a fuel injected V-6
Most expensive.....the s-10 Blazer the wife took with her when we divorced. $18K |
Chevy Impala $400.00
BMW 745i $80,000. Build: 1973T w/ 3.2L $XX,XXX.XX and still growing |
I bought a 914 off a used car lot for $100, at reconnect the shift linkage, and could only find 3rd & 5th as there were no bushings left. I drove it home, it cruised at 70 (4 lane divided road), then, as I got to my house, the break pedal went to the floor so I carved the turn, went up into my yard & spun it around to stop.. That was a pretty exciting Sat morning for a 19 year old kid...

Cheapest? In the UK, paid about 2 UK pounds for a Renault 10 that lasted 3 days.
Most Expensive? I never spend more than $5k on any car. |
I picked up a running/driving 944S, clean title, for $1 (on the title- in actuality, it had more than $1 in the ashtray/under the seats). It has a mangled fender and bent wheel. Ripped off the fender, changed to the spare, and it works. Future DE car.
Most expensive-my E36 at $6200. |
