Very Disappointed with Bela928, a fellow Pelicanhead

After Bela Sztanko stopped returning my messages, I elevated my Paypal dispute to a "claim." He promised to send me an early SC fuel distributor, but instead shipped me a late SC fuel distributor with a bolt driven into the frequency valve port.

Paypal apparently does not consider disputes related to the attributes or quality of the goods received. It's only a $150 claim, but I'm very disappointed that someone who sells this volume of parts on Pelican (he's always got ads over on the Classified Board) would refuse to make this transaction "right."

Pelican does not need such behavior, and should not enable it. His ads should be deleted from the Classified section until he makes this right.

Would agree, this is no place for shady parts dealers or mechanics.

Not weeding them out and identifying them if they do not make things right casts a shadow right back on Pelican, something that is not needed.

Not yet. I may hear from Noah soon. It's only $150, for cryin' out loud. Not really that big of a deal to me normally, but I'm feeling pretty frustrated. I'm one of those naive, "nice guy" types who are actually pretty easy to cheat. I allow it. And frankly, it has happened several times in the past several weeks, in at least one instance for substantially more money than this $150. But I'm drawing the line on this one. I'm basically disappointed in myself, and taking it out on the next guy who makes a low-integrity decision. That happens to be "bela928." Normally I'd let it go. I feel like the guy in Network. I'm mad as Hell and I'm not going to take it any more! Like I say, I am a gentle sort of man. But as some of you know, I'm not short on persistence. (wink)

Having always bought and sold on BBS like Pelican, I've never had a bad experience. Sorry about your luck Supe, this seller needs to have his posting privileges suspended in the classifieds until he makes it right. There's no room for that kind of BS on here.

PayPal is all but useless if anything goes sideways in a deal. They defrauded me of $200. I avoid dealing through them if I can help it. PayPal Alternative - Pay Pal Lawsuits, PayPal Complaints & Fraud

Only way to get Pay Pal's attention is to cut off the funds at the credit card level.

Getting dishonest sellers and mechanics off of PP should be easier. Wish it was...

Supe, Every enthusiast board I visit, Mustang, Pool, here...has it rip off artists and flakes who are outed by the good guys. Just your turn to let people know who to avoid. For that, you deserve thanks.

Seems that things are working out all over the place. Our resident thief was arrested AGAIN yesterday and is now in jail with a $500,000 bail.

Doubt that he will get out this time with bail this high, but as well doubt that he will steal any one elses cars, engines or gearboxes now. PP 911 owners are once again a bit safer.
