What will we call this decade?
Not much time left for this decade. (Unless you believe we have one more year.) So what will the world refer to it as? The zeros? The oughts? I haven't heard any references to it in the media yet.

Lost lives, wealth, employment, character, ethics, respect, initiative, you name it, our society is going downhill FAST! I see ads on TV calling for legislation to outlaw bullying in schools. We never had that when I was growing up, the government is taking over our lives and some people want that control in place. I don't! Bring back personal accountability. If you do something "man up" and take responsibility for it whether it's right or wrong. |

How about the Seagull Decade?
I think it works on two levels: On the one hand, you have the seagulls from "Finding Nemo" that constantly chant "mine" whenever they see something. On the other hand, you have a bunch of people (particularly in government) that fly in, make a lot of noise, s*** over everything, and then leave...

Historians will call it the turn of the 21st century. I think it was a wake-up after the relatively placid 90s, at least for the United States. President Clinton had the chance to apprehend bin Laden in 1995 via the CIA, but decided not too...I wonder how this decade would have been different had Clinton gave the go-ahead.
