FWIW I use my V1 all the time and radar + laser are heavily used in my neck of the woods and all along PCH through Malibu and Santa Monica.

I haven't been by the Rock Store in a while, but note that if you're in a car, parking can be tough on weekends. There tend to be many dozens of bikes filling up the front area.
