Here I Go Again :-(

Woke up this morning with my ankle feeling a bit stiff, as soon as I put my weight on it, I knew that I was in trouble. Staph infection from an ant bite on top of my foot Back to the doc & more meds

When I got the 1st one, in my other leg, the Doc told me that I would most likely get it again, but this is the 4th time this year... I'm really getting tired of not driving because of all the meds and being on & off crutches

Byron,

Obviously, ant bites are a bad thing for you. I suggest treating your yard for ants.
Exterminators are expensive, but they are cheaper than MD's.

Hope you're back to okay soon.

My yard is treaded, got this some where else.. 1st time picked up at the doctor; 2nd & 3rd, scratchs in the yard, the Doc warned me that I would be very susceptible to infections after the real nasty 1st one..

Try a Koch Mason dressing. You take a wash cloth, wring it out well. Cover wound, wrap dry towel over this and saran wrap around the whole thing. Sit down and put your foot up for a few hours. It will get plenty warm under that wrap, and bacteria does not dig temps to be too warm. The dry towel will pull the moisture to the surface as it pulls the wet out of the damp wash cloth. This acts like a wick to draw the schmutz out of the wound.

Those fire ants are nasty.
