Holy Crap - armed thugs and me

This is no Kurt story, BUT, I was sitting in my office this afternoon when I saw a young BMA wearing a hoodie with the hood on run by my window carrying a purse, followed by a masked WMA, also wearing a hoodie with the hood on. I yelled for someone to call 911 and ran out of my office and after them. The WMA had his hand in his waistband like he was holding a gun. They ran off and I chased after them until they ran into an apartment complex.

The layout is tough to describe but I wanted to make sure they did not run through the complex and out the other side, so I ran around a small office complex and then saw the WMA, sans mask and hoodie, nonchalantly walking along a small lake, with me on the opposite side. I had to run around some buildings and lost sight of him, but I knew exactly where they had to be. By this time the PoPo were onscene and had a perimeter established. I gave my info to an officer. During the chase, we went through a bank parking lot (my bank) and I went back to the bank and confirmed that it had security footage of the parking lot where the subjects ran. I saw a cop friend and passed on the info. He told me the guys were trapped in an apartment and they knew who they were.

That was exciting.

P.S. - I know that there will be those who tell me I should not have chased, it was dangerous, etc. I can promise you those comments will fall on deaf ears.

Too bad you didn't have a gun yourself. But, in Kalifornia, only the thugs are allowed to be armed (and, I'll bet $1mil, that when you called or met the cops, the first thing they asked you was "Are YOU armed?").

Wow, good job, hope they catch them. Way too much apathy these days.

He probably didn't have a gun in his waistband, he was probably just holding up his baggy hip hop pants.

Did you put the pipe down? I would think that using the still lit pipe, to emphasize and point out details would add credibility to any statement.

Good for you, if my wifes purse had been snatched by a couple of crackheads,I would hope that someone would take up a pursuit. Yes, dangerous, but you reacted in the way that I would. There aint no effin way those two pos are going to get away without some sort of struggle. The police cant prevent this from taking place, but a citizen can assist and report, and hopefully the police can apprehend. GOOD ON YOU!

I always knew you were a man of action Burnin. We need more folks like you.

Of course, I am sure it would also have been fine for you to realize that the two suspects were not to blame, but the society that created them was.

I didn't know you are deaf...the hearing challenged community must be very proud.

As I am. Well done.
