A way around PayPal?
I've noticed that PayPal will put a hold on payments for eBay items over about $150. Supposedly, this hold will stop once you've done about 10 such transactions with them, according to a regular user who bought a watch from me. They say they'll release the funds once you receive positive feedback from your buyer or 3 days after the shipping confirmation. Seems like PayPal doesn't release the payments 3 days after shipment is confirmed, based on my experience and others in the PayPal forum.
One user suggested getting a credit card terminal from Costco. Seems like the cost to process transactions is lower than what PayPal charges, too. Note: you can avoid PayPal fees if your buyer clicks on the "Personal" tab and pays you as a "gift" (good luck with that on an eBay transaction). I believe the buyer has to have a checking account hooked up to their PayPal account to have this option. Any thoughts on this terminal?: Costco credit card terminal
