What motivated you to get that tatoo?

I can't think of any good reason to get one. Admittedly, I hate needles and the sight of blood, especially my own escaping my body. So what would make you endure the pain of paying someone to poke and draw on you?

My BIL has several tats plus "sleeves". He's a good guy but kind of freaky looking.

I don't see the attraction to having something permanently installed on your body.

What I've noticed is that some folks that don't have a pot to pi$$ in spend huge amounts to get tattoos. WTF?

GH85Carrera 11-27-2009 06:22 PM

No tats here. No extra holes in my body. Ain't ever gonna happen.

t951 11-27-2009 06:47 PM

Same here, no tats. I love how people think it marks their "individuality".......just like everyone else.

Nostril Cheese 11-27-2009 07:11 PM

Tatted girls are the fun ones...

just sayin..

lendaddy 11-27-2009 07:12 PM

No tats, no holes....never got the point of it.

Pain is not so bad on the 'fleshy' parts. When they go over bone....yeah, that can 'awaken the senses'. But as many report, you have an amazing sense of calm after a tatoo.

Expense? You want a cheap tatoo like you want a cheap condom. Your hoping it turns out for the best, but.....

only one I've ever consideredhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1259386100.jpg

I was the first on the scene of a man that had been run over by his own truck in a parking lot. He died a brutal and ugly death in my arms. His face (what was left of it...) will never leave my head, so I figured that his initials should never leave my skin either.

I'm against many tattoos because they are just the hip thing, but lots of ink out there has deep importance to people.

I dont have any and dont like them. Mostly because all the ones I have seen are stupid. I am not against them and if I ever figure out something that I would definately be happy with forever, I would consider it. I don't ever see that happening though.

aigel 11-27-2009 10:24 PM

Never seriously crossed my mind. Mainly because I'd want tats on my arms and that's a 'no go' if your professional life isn't in arts or crafts. ;)

It's true. Many insecure women crave lasting, deep emotion.

REGRET is one of humankind's most powerful emotions.

Hence the tattoos on the crazy ladies.

My $.02

I meet some of the demographics to get a tattoo: 14 years in the USMC, 9 in the Army, former fighter pilot and current SPECOPS guy.

NO TATTOOS! I couldn't ever come up with one I'd want to live with and I see no sense in it. Plus if you have some crazy "Airborne" or "Ranger" or "Paratrooper" or "USMC" tattoo and you're taken hostage, you'll likely get a bigger arse-beating.
