Guitar questions

My wife wants to learn to play the guitar.

1 she has small hands and short fingers, which brands have slender necks.

2. How much should i expect to pay in Guitar lessons?

1) According to my FIL, who is a guitar guru, every brand has something that will work. Go to a store and hold a few and see which her hands work with.

2) My wife is currently taking private guitar lessons at a local music store. She pays $50 a month for one lesson a week.

I used to strum on a older vintage Martin 00-17 that had a slender neck and body.
Very nice tone. They're still out there, I'm sure.
It was a shame I had no talent for it.

electrics are easier on the finger than acoustics.

get a Taylor baby. very nice and easy to play with small hands and will not discourage a new learner..

dont know what rates are for lessons these days. call your local music shop and ask what 1/2 hour and full hour rates are. 1/2 hour sessions are fairly useless in my opinion. after taking lessons and getting comfortable, there are endless DVD and youtube tutorials than can advance a learner very rapidly, assuming one has the interest and dexterity to advance
