Original Cobra body on Pawn Stars

Im sitting here watching Pawn Stars and some guy walks in saying hes got an orignal Cobra body he got for free for hauling it away. No paint on the body. The suspension looks brand new. The car looks to have never been assembled rather than a restoration started but not finished. I would have bet my life the guy had a Factory 5 replica or something but after taking it to an expert, they find the CSX###... chassis number on it. Guy lets it go for $30k. Idiot.

I just watched that episode (and the 3 or 4 before that). Amazing, yeah, the guy must have needed quick cash. I think I'd have started hitting up Shelby/Cobra clubs advertising and original body.

didn't Shelby "create" a number of these about a decade ago. i remember some scandal about frames being left outside to rust and new bodies being put on these new but rusted frames. phantom cars were registered back in the 60's and those were the numbers being used.

Our Son loves that show - we saw the episode, also saw him fire a 1700's musketoon worth thousands. I don't think I would have fired that gun but I know I would fire Chummly!

Yes, in any other work environment, Chumlee should be fired, but on Pawn Stars, he is the best part of the show!

Got the episode Tivo'd; I'll watch it in a bit.

Chumly is the perfect "reality star" because he makes us feel smart. That's a large part of the psychology of reality TV.

I saw the show also and when they first showed the car on the rollback I said it was a fake. It has to be a continuation car not the real thing. I bet the Cobra forums are going crazy over this....

The chick who was trying to get rid of the Baldwin piano was pretty hot - funny that Chumchum thought he had a play...yup, staged but she was pretty.

On one episode he bought the shell of an old Coke machine and sent it in for restoration. Of course when he got it back it was worth many thousands. It also does not appear to be the same coke machine he bought. It was similar but I am 99.9% sure it was a different machine. When they showed the restored machine the camera didn't dwell on it long.
