Some one help me find a good price on a Sig 226

Needs to be either .357 sig or 40 S&W. I will be buying the alternative barrel from EFK, unless the pistol comes with both.

Any help?

Gunbroker seems to have no deals... :(

Whats a deal on a 226 these days? I think I paid $860 for my 226R .40. Its got the rail and night sights.

Damn fine gun. Definitely worth getting the Hogue grip. Major upgrade for very little $$$.

red-beard 12-02-2009 07:22 PM

As low as I can go. Under $500 would be a deal. $650 with both barrels.

Not a sig, but I know a guy who can get Glock 22's for about $200 if you don't ask where it came from.....

Do they still have serial numbers?

Rick Lee 12-02-2009 08:13 PM

I sold one of my P226's on Monday for $500 with the .40 cal. barrel, contrasting night sights, two mags and blue case. It was the non-rail version.

About two months ago the local Cabela's had the rail version with night sights, date code of Feb. 2009 in PERFECT NEW condition for......$499. I snagged it, added the SCT grips and mags and it's a BADASS gun now. You won't find a deal like that.

A W. German version just showed up on out local gun board for $400 in Tucson. Can't post a link, as you have to register to view the classifieds.

I'm actually trying to get ahold of the guy.. haven't seen or heard from him in over a year. He's an old friend that's been messed up in some crazy stuff.

I did test out a G22 of his last time I saw him, put some rounds through it... kinda liked it.

A new Walther is still higher up on my want-to-buy list however.

Good deal on the 226 RL. I've been looking for one one these too. I like my 225 but it's a bit small for my fat hands.

$518 to Houston, in .357 sig, after shipping and tax. No transfer fee. Best I could find. No mags, but it has the box and manual.

HardDrive 12-03-2009 04:36 PM

The gun is only $200. The included box of .357 ammo cost $318.

Ammo? Factory supplied box.

I'm joking.

.357 sig ammo is kind of spendy.

red-beard 12-03-2009 05:24 PM

I still have a decent stock, from when I had a Sig P239 in .357 sig.

With .357 sig, the P239 was a tack driver. No so much with 40 S&W. I sold it because I didn't like the single stack mag, yet it had a huge grip.

James, check this --> Nevada Shooters

Rick Lee 12-03-2009 05:55 PM

SIG's are generally very accurate, but my P239 in .40 is by far the most accurate gun I've ever owned. I mean it's scary accurate, as in it builds a false sense of proficiency and then other guns bring me back to reality.

That photo looks to be the same generation (box and manual) as my old P220. What are the first two letters of the serial #? I use that box when I check a sidearm in my luggage at the airport, as it's much thinner than the blue SIG boxes.

So what is a gun safe to range, 226, non rail, with .357 Sig and .40 barrels, 2 10 round mags, adjustable rear site, blue box, and maybe a case of rounds put through it worth? I have one I bought a few years ago just sitting in the safe.

Oh, Snap. I screwed up. That is an amazing deal!

Rick Lee 12-03-2009 06:02 PM

Probably in the $500-$600 range, depending on how savvy the buyer is. $600 would be top dollar. 10 rd. mags are worthless except in occupied states like Kalifornia.

About $650. And I would have bought it from you, if I hadn't found a 226 from Gander in .357 sig, for $449.

That 229 on the Nevada board, both barrels, 4 mags, holster, 40 S&W ammo, about $650. Only thing, that juan was from the bunny ranch (well used).
