My new favorite country music artist

Jamey Johnson.

I saw him on the CMT awards recently and really thought his voice and style had a very cool, retro country vibe.

At the risk of offending the musical afficionados on the board, I humbly present Jamey Johnson:

Well, he pronounces "chevrolet" just like the NASCAR announcers...

If you use the words "country" and "artist" in the same sentence, someone will likely kick your arse...

I saw him at Farm Aid this year - fantastic performance.

I may run out and pick up his latest album today. Need to expose my kids to something other than Hip Hop, Top 40 and Hannah Montanna.

I saw him on Farm Aid, I like his song "In Colors" or something like that. Billy Currington has that song " God is Great, Beer is Good and People are Crazy" another god artist.

I like pretty much everything. I even listen to the hip hop and death metal my kids play. My favorite music is generally blues and R&B. I truly cannot understand how anyone could dismiss the entire genre of country music. It can be soulful and moving. Pretty powerful stuff.

If suspect that people who say they hate country music either haven't listened to the good stuff or they are making a snobbish cultural statement.

Been a Jamey Johnson fan since this last album came out--In Color got me hooked. Good stuff. He's also written quite a few hits for other country artists.

I have to agree with Moses too. There are some very good country performers. They are not all Shania Twains etc.

I spent a day in a studio in the old Emerald building on Music Row in Nashville this week. Now run by Benchmark Studio, their excellent-sounding live room has seen Sinatra, Twitty, Reba, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash . . .

I met a passel of engineers from up & down the Row. I found it fascinating.
