Kinder

I think I'm getting my mother one for christmas ( don't worry she doesn't read the forum). Anyway my thinking is no more book buying, and it will read the book for you as well, thus giving the effect of books on tape.
Does anyone here have one? They seem like pretty incredible devices.

You're getting your mom a little German kid?

I think you mean "Kindle". I agree they seem pretty cool. I'm still working through the "Classics" app on my phone. Pretty sweet for $1.

I have another e-reader, a Cybook, very nice for travel. Thinner than the Kindle but no wireless downloading. It reads Mobipocket and PDF formats. Havr 400+ books on it now but still like the real thing for some authors and books.

I gave a Kindle to a close friend 18 mo ago as a convalescence gift after valve replacement surgery. She loves it. Especially the wireless download feature. She was thinking of getting her mother one of the new version ones which has the read to you feature. Her mom has macular degeneration so the changeable font size and the read to you would be great. I haven't heard if she has gotten it yet. I will ask her later today and report back if she has with their impressions. When they first came out with the latest version I saw the read to you described as experimental. Haven't checked on this lately.

The three "B"s keep book publishing alive. Beaches, bathrooms and bedrooms.

Buy books, the freaking trees will grow back.
