I agree that skipping grades is generally a bad idea. I found that taking each grade at least once, sometimes twice, was a real benefit. And I'm encouraged there are so many talented and intelligent kids here, maybe they can give my kids jobs someday.

But you only get out of it what you put in to it. Most were there for a good time (and those were almost worth the price of admission ) If your kids are focused and motivated and mature it can be a great situation. If not - well it can still be a great education , but they'll have to learn something more practical in college - or move into a position in Daddy's corp. or law firm

My son is only two and my wife and I have already toured 3 schools, we have 3 more that we can look at. We are also leaning towards private school (our son has a hearing loss and will need a smaller class size).
I agree with a lot said here. Go to the school and see how they teach, and talk to the kids there.

2nd grade.. when your talking with her.. you understand & see... it's $$$ well spent.. 12K per yr.. oh and it's not having $$ that gets you in.. it's the test results.. she's very funny.. and a great kid.. Rika |

I think you will do well with private school.
Our son went to public and private. Private had a great impact with smaller S/T and rifraff gone! Our daughter is in a structured homeschool program. If this were not the case she'd be in private school. I'm a low-paid Soldier and I'd spend my money on it without second thought. |
