Best Christmas guift for $50

I need suggestions for the best 'guy' gift you've given or gotten for $50.

Can't be more, and if it's less it's got to be really cool.

edit... I hate to typo the title. Sucks that it can't be edited...

Bottle of single malt. Lots for under $50 here, so in the states where liquor's cheaper I'd imagine you'd have quite a lot of selection.

A spell checker? lol, j/k...

Depends on age, relationship etc....

If it is an adult, real good friend, I would purchase a nice pocket knife...

If he has a hobby, hunting, fishing, models etc... get him something you know he doesn't have that would benefit his hobby...

That is a great gift for someone that likes single malt. If I received that I would just re-gift it. If the guy likes booze find out what his preference is.

Gift certificate to Sears? I can always use more tools...

Worst gift certificate I've ever received: Garret Wade tool catalog. It's a bunch of outrageously priced Chinese garbage masquerading as old-world craftsman's tools. The only useful thing I could find was a set of wood handle screwdrivers.

tool gift certificate is a great idea...most guys who wanted a leatherman or a knife already have one. But tools? Oh yeah, a guy can always add more...

I got a crusher wool hat in loden green....really enjoyed it. So much that I bought one to give at a "dirty Santa" xmas party. It was the most sought after gift...even with the women.

There is the one I ordered...under $50.
