Beer Brewery would be nice. ;)
We're actually doing a business expansion right now. Sales are up by a factor of 5 from 2008 to 2009. The Business plan has us doubling next year, with smaller but steady increases after that. By 2013-2014, we should hit the wall with what we are doing. By that point, I want us large enough to start doing Engineered Packages. We'll use the contacts we've built up between now and then. Should be about $10-20M/yr by that point. Then the sky is the limit. |

Wilderness guide. But I wouldn't advertise or tell anyone what I do or where I am. It would just be me in the middle of nowhere.

A hardcore gym. Dim lighting, heavy industrial music, bare concrete floors, unpadded benches, NO machines. There WILL be an interview process. No pussies.
I know this niche exists. It'll be called "Stalingrad." If you copy my idea, I will hunt you down. |
Coin operated car wash.
Storage units. Machine shop. I'd probably start with a couple of CNC machines in a small business park and try to pick up oil and gas equipment sub-contractor work at first. |
I'd like to open a Hobby Shop. The kind I knew as a kid. Models, trains, slot cars, dolls, etc. in a small midwestern town. Kids today need such a place to learn how to use their brain and hands. One kid at a time.

Book store... doubt there is much money in it but that is what I would love to do.
Maybe combine high end audio/book store |
A few years from now, I may try to open Little Traveler retail stores. They'll be interactive aimed at boys, one idea is a hydraulic press inside a banker's glass enclosure and you get to choose what you put into the press: can of baked beans, football, your sister...

Shaun, I thought you might name your store "Fellow Travelers"

My idea is to open a shop called the "Clip-a- torium" We will wear white smocks and look very sterile and doctorish. Trimming the ladies lower region in a variety of trendy trims. It will be hard work but I think.... I mean I know I could really get into my work. I will of course be franchising this out to the masses once I have had my fill of trim and dialed in the procedures.
Keep your eye out for one coming to a neighborhood near you. Steve |

Escort agency with the stupid wood as prime customer.

Apres Ski with lingerie store at a high end ski resort........I'd call it "Apres-Ski et Vous"

When I get stinking rick from MY fantasy personal business that I'll open, I'll fund all of YOUR fantasy businesses...
I will open a series of German style Doner Kebob shops near drinking districts and college towns. Open from 3PM to 3AM, small counter style. Cheap rent, cheap materials, one or two items on the menu, and get stinking-ly filth-ly rotton-ly rich selling manna to the masses. If you've never had a Donor (German style) then you haven't lived life. Those that have (many of you have I'm sure) know that they would sell like crack on almost any American street corner. |

BTW, I was at one such place in Xi'an, China in Jan., and it was illegal because they had the grill on the sidewalk. They saw the cops coming, moved the grill into the restaurant (really smoked up the place) and then right back out onto the sidewalk once the cops had passed. Try that here. |
Ladies strip club on one side, male strip club on the other and a lounge and dance floor in the middle.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ |

The cops and health department will leave me alone because I'd supply them with crack. You? You get none, because you dissed my fantasy business :p |

He has a 2 acre lot on a lake in town, 4 car attached with 4 car detached garage. He owns a 2000 Boxter S, two 951s, a Cayenne S, a Lotus Elise, a 535i, has a Tesla on order, but drives a DaeWoo to work. He also says that WalMart, CVS, and Walgreens make deals with the HMOs and drug companies that he cannot make, and squeeze him out of more and more business (he can't afford to give away free antibiotics, for example). You'd think that people would get sick in the same kinds of ways year after year, but he also says that his income is incredibly variable. His best year ever? The year Viagra was introduced. But drugs get taken off the market or go generic, and his income shrinks. New blockbuster? He does well. |
So "up and coming" drugs are the best?
