Finding names of previous vehicle owners...

So Carfax doesn't give out the names of PO's on it's reports, correct?

I'm looking for the name of a previous owner of one of my Porsches for no other reason than curiosity. When I bought the car, the guy I bought it from gave me the history of the car as he knew it... there were not any records he could find so info was scarce. I do know that the guy mentioned the name of the owner before him. I cannot remember the name of the guy at all, but I remember him saying that he was a retired basketball player who played for the LA Lakers and now lived in St. Louis.

I know nothing about basketball and thus had never heard of the guy before, and since have forgotten the name.

But the Charlie Sheen 928GTS for sale in the FS forum right now got me thinking.

Anyone in the STL area know of an ex-Laker that lives/lived here?

Does your DMV have some obscure sort of search for that? California DMV used to be willing to do a search in their database for $5.

I was looking through the bills for work that was done on my car over the years and for a couple of years it was Mr. & Mrs............. on the bills, then it was only Mrs. ............. for about a year till a new owner took ownership. Wonder what happened always thought it was a divorce thing but maybe the guy died.
