The problem with a Spork is that it is not a dedicated utensil thus it will not do either job especially well.

Second is your NEW SPOON Sterling or is it Stainless...there is something to say about the tactile feel of sterling in ones hand..it has a certain heft and warmness that you just don't get from Stainless...it seems so cold and utilitarian..whereas sterling exhibits substantiality and class to its user.

I think maybe your next spoon should be made of Sterling..you will notice an immediate difference.
