Low class eats YUM.

Hell yeah don't knock it until you try it!!!!!!!!!!!

Take two all-beef Hot Dogs of your choice:
BOIL for 8-10 minutes, until just before they split.
Angle cut, and toss in a frying pan on medium heat with some shakey red pepper.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1261192196.jpg

Cook at medium for a whie, until they get some crusty brown goodness.
Deglaze the frying pan with 1/4 cup or so of red wine,
Add one can of Van Camp's "PORK AND BEANS", and some more shakey red pepper.
Bring back up to heat, simmer for about 8-10 more minutes.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1261192231.jpg

Stir in 2 GREEN ONIONS right before plating, and VOILA.
Serve with a couplea slices of Wonder Bread. AWESOME.

KaptKaos 12-18-2009 06:40 PM

Sure. Jeremy makes beans and franks, and no one gives him any jazz. I make sushi with spam and I'm a philistine.

Noah930 12-18-2009 06:43 PM

He's a rock star. He'd make underoos look cool.

futuresoptions 12-18-2009 06:46 PM

and he used green peppers and that shakey red pepper...

Dueller 12-18-2009 06:47 PM

And NOW we know why BHT&M does not tour by bus...

Green onions were my "touch of class." You know, because I'm classy.

Oh yeah, and I said "DEGLAZE."

futuresoptions 12-18-2009 06:56 PM

Still trying to figure out the boiling before stir fry part.. Was that to make sure that they didn't jump out of the pan when you turned up the heat on them? :D

bivenator 12-18-2009 08:26 PM

Please do not post pictures of the morning after.

Just another TOUCH OF CLASS, I guess. Makes 'em seem plumper and less "hot-doggy."

It has also been noted that you used "plating" as a verb and spelled "voila" correctly. You may be ready for your own cooking show... or at least a column in your local paper.
:D

Moses 12-18-2009 10:27 PM

Upscale Beenie-Weenie. Nice.

You might also try adding some green chili, Gogar. Frozen tubs of Bueno green chili are available in the frozen section at the Denver area King Soopers grocery stores. YUM. :)

cstreit 12-19-2009 06:38 AM

"Fancy beanie-weenies". A dee-light for the trailer park gourmet! :D

Rot 911 12-19-2009 06:41 AM

Jeremy, you just keep shattering my fantasies of what it is like to be a big time rock star. :D

targa911S 12-19-2009 06:49 AM

:D

Yeah, now you need to bleach and spike your hair and wear sunglasses backwards on your head when you cook.

I do the boil hotdogs in the Kraft mac and cheese thing, does cutting them at an angle improve the flavor?

scottmandue 12-19-2009 07:23 AM

You didn't throw out the hot dog water did you? That is a whole nother meal!

Weenie soup! :D

I have friends who wrap hot dogs in corn tortias and fry them... hot dog taquitos... beat that!

sammyg2 12-19-2009 08:32 AM

OK, but where's the bacon?

sigh .....

Oh wait... how about you use the cheese dogs? The one with cheese injected into them?

That is the only way to make sushi. That other crap is what you put on a hook, to catch a fish which you then cook.

Have to love the simplicity of something like that. Kind of like making a box of Kraft Mac and Cheese and throwing in a couple handfulls of grated pepper jack.

vash 12-19-2009 10:33 AM

spam fried rice...chop up some korean kimchi, add it at the end..heat it through. serve with an over easy egg on top, and sirachi sauce on the side. about $1.50, and you can feed a crowd!

More surface area = more crusty goodness when you fry em up. The frying pan really helps out the hot dogs a lot. Fry em up before you put em in your mac next time and you'll be hooked!

TechnoViking 12-19-2009 12:26 PM

Jeezus, dude. What did you guys do with all that BHT money me and my buddies gave you in college? Oh, right...hookers and blow. ;)

flatbutt 12-19-2009 01:54 PM

slice those suckers a bit thinner and stir them into an omelette with onions, serve ....er excuse me...plate it with ketchup...OH BABY!!!

extra credit if you mash your white wonder bread thin, spoon the creation onto that and eat it like a slice of breakfast pizza.

ODDJOB UNO 12-20-2009 04:11 AM

you could make that into a delightful southwestern hispanic dish.....................WRAP IT UP WITH A TORTILLA! and place lil mexican flags on it and wear your sombrero!

MUY BUENO COMIDA!

Erakad 12-20-2009 04:39 AM

Thanks, but I'll pass....not my favorite..................................

ODDJOB UNO 12-20-2009 04:45 AM

another simple rendition to my delightful southwestern epicurian DEE-LIGHT, would be to DRENCH this with doritoes chile con QUESSO from the jar.

instead of just a boring meal wrapped in a tortilla.................this could become hubbys flavoo-rite meal after a long hard day at werk. this could be called "ENCHILADA STYLE"!

My dad made glazed Spam one time when I was a kid. I wouldn't eat it. He told me I would have it at every meal until I ate it. I told him I would starve first.

OTOH, we had Franks and Beans every Saturday of my childhood. Scarfed it down.

I don't know what the Philistines ate, but if they served Spam, maybe that's why they are extinct. :p

Can tell you have not been in the military. Spam tastes good compared to some of the other options we had. Course at times we had no options...

I cannot be responsible for any alterations to my hallowed recipe.

Bush's are great, but they have a robust flavor which may overpower some of the . . . . finer, more subtle nuances of my 'lassic "Low Class Eats" recipe.
SmileWavy

sailchef 04-24-2010 11:16 AM

LOL

You can toss that entire dish in a blender, pour into a fancy little mold, refrigerate, unmold onto a serving platter, and, "voila"...............Pate`. Serve it cold with french bread croutons..

You may have to adjust the ratio of beans to dogs, and I would add the green onions as a garnish on top.

Fancy french cuisine for those late night after parties.

RWebb 04-24-2010 11:53 AM

grits = low class, right?

but if you get your sister to ship you organic stone-ground grits made from a heritage variety of corn...

still low enuff??

I cooked some more of 'em yesterday & Goooo --- oood!
