Flew on the A380!
Recently flew to Australia on business and took the ride down under on the A380! What an incredible plane! The thing is just huge and dwarfs a 747. Lots of carbon fiber inside, lots of cool amenities, HD screens with remotes, nice seats, etc. Some of the first and business class sections were sick!
Then we started hitting some good turbulence somewhere over the equator. Boy does she flex! I've mentioned this before flying on the A320. I guess flexibility is better than regidity, but the 747 I flew back on was a more more stiff and solid feel. I know there's the ongoing Boeing vs. Airbus debate. One thing for sure, the first A380 that goes down will be a huge loss of life. Wonder how these plane will hold up over time. Oh, and when we were preparing to land in Sydney, the pilot indicated the plane would be doing a "self-landing" !!! Good thing the computer decided not to reboot ![]()

Glad that you survived.

Hehe.
![]() I taxi by these beasts every day at LAX (Quantas), and I've walked in and around one. They are damn unbelievable in terms of their sheer size (especially the tail's height and the wing's span), but SO ugly! ![]() |
