I use a rural post office. Always great service with a pretty smile. Brought them a bunch of brownies with a bow on top..

We give the guys that deliver the WSJ and the local paper. Gift cards from starbucks. No big deal. Never meet them. They do their jobs the papers are out there before I go to work. Nothing to the mail carrier.

Tell her you changed your mind... and that you think she should bake him some cookies, and see how that flies.

I have never met any mailman from any place I've ever lived. As far as I know, the mail appears in my mailbox via some magic quantum teleportation.

I don't think we have the same "postal carrier" from one week to the next, let alone an entire year.

Yes.

Sharon, our mail carrier, is great. We gave her a gift card this year. She has gone out of her way in her service by taking packages that SHOULD have been mailed at the PO.

She has been our carrier for the last 5-6 years.

Yes, our mail lady and garbage guys get gift cards for booze. With the mail she will bring parcels to the door year round instead of leaving a note in the box that we have a parcel in town for pick-up. Saves a lot of time. I joke about the garbage guys that I could put out a body and they would take it, but that's how good they are. We have a 1 bag limit and they do not care if I put on $2 tags for extra bags. Well worth it

Gave mine a twenty yesterday. My driveway is just about a mile long and he brings packages to the house instead of the pink slip. Great guy.

We have different carriers all the time. And most of them can't read an address. Our neighborhood is less than 30 houses. The mailbox is right on the street with a big address number. At least once a week I get someone else's mail, and on a regular basis I get mail with a big circle and arrows pointing to my address. My mail goes to other peoples house and takes several extra days to get into my box.

The starting pay for a new carrier is $42,610 and goes up to $55,794. That does not count all the federal holidays, and retirement. If they work a little overtime they can make 70 grand just to drop an envelope into a box. No tip for my mail carrier. I am a generous tipper to waiters.

I stick a bottle in the mailbox every year. She now cheerfully brings packages to the door; saving me the 15 mile round-trip to town....

Mine is a chain smoker and I noticed a pack of Marlboro reds in his truck the other day. I might get him a carton on the Indian reservation.
